Terms & Conditions

1. Reservations & Booking Confirmation

A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from Kiteme Comfort Lodge staff via WhatsApp, email, or a booking platform receipt. Verbal bookings are not guaranteed.

• A deposit or full payment may be required to secure your reservation depending on room type and season
• Confirmation includes room type, dates, rate, and inclusions — please review carefully upon receipt
• You must be at least 18 years of age to make a reservation
• Accurate guest details (names, nationality, contact) must be provided at the time of booking as required by Tanzanian law
• Kiteme Comfort Lodge reserves the right to refuse a reservation at its discretion

2. Check-In & Check-Out

• Check-In: From 12:00 noon (early check-in subject to availability, may attract a fee)
• Check-Out: By 10:00 AM (late check-out may be arranged for an additional charge)
• Valid government-issued ID or passport is required for all guests at check-in
• A refundable security deposit may be collected at check-in and returned upon a satisfactory room inspection at check-out
• Guests who have not arrived by 9:00 PM without prior notice may forfeit their reservation

3. Rates, Payments & Taxes

All rates are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) payments are accepted at the prevailing exchange rate on the day of settlement.

• All rates include complimentary breakfast and high-speed Wi-Fi
• Government taxes and levies (where applicable) will be displayed clearly at booking
• Third-party platform rates may differ — best rate is always guaranteed when booking direct
• Accepted payment: Cash (USD/TZS), M-Pesa, bank transfer, and select cards

4. Cancellation & Modification Policy

Flexible Bookings (Direct / WhatsApp)

• Cancellations made 48 hours or more before check-in: Full refund or free rescheduling
• Cancellations within 24–48 hours: 50% of first night charge retained
• Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows: First night charge is non-refundable

Third-Party Platform Bookings

Bookings made via Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, or similar platforms are subject to that platform's cancellation policy as stated at the time of booking. Kiteme Comfort Lodge honours but does not override platform policies.

Group Bookings (4+ Rooms)

Group reservations require a 50% deposit and a minimum 7-day cancellation notice. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival forfeit the deposit.

5. Guest Conduct & House Rules

Kiteme Comfort Lodge is a community that values respect, safety, and peaceful enjoyment for all guests. The following rules apply to all persons on the premises:

Noise & Quiet Hours

• Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please be considerate of fellow guests.
• Loud music, parties, or disruptive gatherings are not permitted without prior arrangement

Visitors & Guests

• Registered guests only are permitted to stay overnight in booked rooms
• Day visitors must be registered at reception and depart by 9:00 PM
• The lodge reserves the right to charge for unregistered occupants

Prohibited Activities

• Illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous items are strictly forbidden on the premises
• Harassment, threatening behaviour, or discrimination toward staff or guests will result in immediate removal without refund
• Commercial or entrepreneurial activities (sales, filming for commercial purposes) require prior written permission

Smoking & Alcohol

• Smoking is prohibited inside all rooms and indoor areas
• A designated outdoor smoking area is available
• Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted. The lodge reserves the right to decline service

6. Liability & Property

Kiteme Comfort Lodge takes every reasonable precaution to provide a safe environment. However:

• Guests are responsible for their own valuables. A safe is available in rooms — please use it.
• The lodge is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property unless caused by proven lodge negligence
• Guests will be held responsible for wilful damage to lodge property and will be charged accordingly
• Breakages must be reported immediately to reception
• The lodge is not liable for personal injury sustained due to guest negligence or disregard of safety notices

We strongly recommend that guests travelling internationally obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, cancellations, and personal property.

7. Services & Amenities

• Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the dining area
• Wi-Fi is provided as a complimentary service — speeds may vary and no specific bandwidth is guaranteed
• Airport transfers must be booked at least 12 hours in advance and are subject to vehicle availability
• Safari and tour arrangements are made in good faith with partner operators — the lodge is not liable for third-party service failures
• The lodge reserves the right to make reasonable substitutions to services in exceptional circumstances

8. Photography & Media

Guests are welcome to take personal photographs and videos on the premises for non-commercial use. By sharing images publicly that tag or reference Kiteme Comfort Lodge, you grant the lodge a non-exclusive licence to share or repost such content for promotional purposes. If you would prefer your content not to be shared, please let us know.

Commercial photography or filming on the premises requires prior written approval from management.

9. Force Majeure

Kiteme Comfort Lodge shall not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from events beyond its reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to: natural disasters, flooding, political unrest, government orders, pandemics, power outages, or other events of force majeure.

In such circumstances, the lodge will make every reasonable effort to communicate with affected guests, offer alternative dates, or arrange refunds at management's discretion.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from a stay at or booking with Kiteme Comfort Lodge shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Tanzanian courts, with preference given to amicable resolution in the first instance.
